Devotion 3: One in Christ, Heirs of the Promise
Scripture: Galatians 3:25-29
Reflection:
I’ve seen folks in churches act like some are more “worthy” of God’s grace than others—maybe because they’ve been in church longer or done more good deeds. But Paul shuts that down in Galatians. He says, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28). The Law showed us we’re all sinners, equally lost without Christ. And faith in Him makes us all equal heirs of God’s promise.
Jesus took our sins and gave us His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21). That levels the playing field. We’re all rebels saved by the same Savior, united by the same faith, and adopted as God’s sons and daughters. Next time you’re tempted to look down on someone—or feel less than someone else—remember: in Christ, we’re one, and we’re all heirs of the promise.
Application:
Think of someone in your life you’ve judged or felt inferior to. Pray for them today, and ask God to help you see them as a fellow heir in Christ. Consider one small act of kindness you can do to show the unity we have in Jesus.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for making me one with You and Your people through faith. Forgive me for any pride or division in my heart. Help me see others as You do—equally loved, equally saved, and equally Yours. Amen.
