Devotion 3: Jesus, Our Conquering Savior

Vbcconway   -

Scripture: Psalm 110:5-7 (ESV)
The Lord is at your right hand; he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath. He will execute judgment among the nations, filling them with corpses; he will shatter chiefs over the wide earth. He will drink from the brook by the way; therefore he will lift up his head.

Reflection:
The world we live in is full of rebellion against God, but Psalm 110 promises that Jesus, our conquering King, will return to set all things right. He won’t stop short or grow weary—His judgment will be swift and complete, and His reign will extend to the ends of the earth. For those who have trusted in Him, this is a promise of hope: the pain, suffering, and opposition we face will not last forever. Jesus will return as the conquering Lamb, bringing peace to His eternal kingdom. As His people, we live now as ambassadors of His coming kingdom, proclaiming His salvation and looking forward to the day when every enemy is made His footstool.

Application:
Think about a challenge or opposition you face because of your faith. How does the promise of Christ’s ultimate victory encourage you to persevere? Today, pray for an opportunity to share the hope of Christ’s return with someone who needs to hear it, and ask God to give you boldness to speak.

Prayer:
Conquering King, I long for the day when You return to make all things right. Strengthen me to live faithfully in this world, proclaiming Your salvation and trusting in Your ultimate victory. Help me to stand firm, knowing You will reign completely to the ends of the earth. Amen.
