Devotion 1: Walk by The Spirit
Scripture: Galatians 5:16 – “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”
Reflection:
The freedom Christ purchased for us with His blood is not a license to indulge in sin but an invitation to live under the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Paul’s words in Galatians 5:16 remind us that walking by the Spirit is the key to overcoming the pull of our sinful nature. This isn’t about following a set of rules to earn God’s favor—it’s about yielding to the Spirit’s power, which transforms our desires and empowers us to live for God’s glory. When we rely on the Spirit, we find the strength to say “no” to the flesh and “yes” to God’s will.
Application:
Today, identify one area where your fleshly desires—whether anger, envy, or selfishness—tend to take control. Pause and pray, asking the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts and actions in that moment. Trust His power to lead you into choices that reflect Christ’s love and holiness.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the freedom You bought with Your blood. Holy Spirit, guide my steps today. Help me to walk in Your power, turning away from sin and living for Your glory. Amen.
